Śri Rāma Navamī is the Auspicious Appearance day of Lord Rāma, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. On the ninth day of the bright half of the month of Caitra, Lord Rāma appeared in this material manifestation by descending from His eternal spiritual abode.

Festivals are a very integral part of the temple’s activities and commemorate the transcendental pastimes of the Lord. Devotees at Sri Krishna Mandir celebrated Rāma Navamī by fasting till sun set, chanting the Holy Names, performing the Abhiṣeka ceremony and offering a variety of foodstuff to the Lord.

The festive celebrations started at 6.00 pm with a grand āratī. Devotees performed thundering Saṅkīrtana with great exuberance to please the Lord. The entire temple was surcharged with the vibration the Holy name of Lord.

After the āratī, the Lord received a grand Abhiṣekam (Ceremonial Bathing). Everyone who attended the festival got opportunity to offer milk for the abhishekam of the Lord.

After the Abhiṣekam, devotees of the Sri Krishna Mandir conducted a cultural program to commemorate the pastimes of the Lord Rāma. Based on inspirational incidents described in the Rāmāyaṇa, the temple’s own team of Vaikuṇṭha Players showcased an excellent drama for the pleasure of all the devotees.

The festival concluded with an sumptuous Ekādaśī feast (made from non-grain ingredients). The crowd left with a joyful mood by drowning in the blissful ocean of mercy of Lord Rāma.
