Devotees in ISKM Russia have recently started to plant flowers and vegetables in their gardens to offer to the Lord. By growing their own vegetation, ISKM Russia has commenced in its progress towards self sustenance. This was greatly encouraged by Srila Prabhupada through his words on farm communities.
Devotee: How is it that the trees and plants will be happy?
Prabhupāda: Because they will hear Hare Kṛṣṇa. Not only trees and plants—the insects and everyone, they will have the opportunity of hearing Hare Kṛṣṇa. That will benefit.
