Being an instrument in the hands of Śrīla Prabhupāda to connect the aspiring devotees with him brings immense pleasure. As we study in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, only very small number of fortunate souls in the whole creation get the opportunity to connect with a bona fide spiritual master. The formal ceremony in which an aspirant devotee is accepted as a disciple of the bona fide spiritual master is known as the dīkṣā ceremony. The fortunate souls not only get transcendental knowledge from the spiritual master but also get all their accumulated sinful reactions eradicated by him on that day.

One such dīkṣā program was conducted at ISKM Puducherry on the 19
th of February, 2017, just the day after our Ratha Yātrā celebrations here. Six devotees agreed to become disciples of our beloved spiritual master His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda by taking formal initiation (dīkṣā) from him. Three of them received harināma dīkṣā (first initiation) and other three received brāhmana dīkṣā (second initiation).  His Grace Sundar Gopāl Prabhu, a Senior Mentor of ISKM and the President of ISKM Singapore, played the role of ṛtvik representative of Śrīla Prabhupāda and our humble self was fortunate enough to perform the yajña.

Many devotees have witnessed the ceremony and chanted the holy name. Delicious Kṛṣṇa prasādam feast was served to everyone present. Jaya Śrīla Prabhupāda!!
