We had the privilege to host the grand Gaura Pūrṇimā celebrations  at ISKM Cairns, Queensland, Australia.

Over 20 enthusiastic participants joined us for the festivities. That is a lot for an outback town like ours. People were invited to come early to walk around the gośālā, to learn more about cow protection and meet the cows. The children in particular loved patting and playing around with the calves and a few helped hand feed our youngest calf Tulasī.

The evening kicked off with sandhyā-ārati, followed by lively kīrtanas and bhajanas, followed by an informative lecture on the glories of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His pastimes and everyone was then treated to an absolutely lavish Kṛṣṇa-prasādam feast.

There was a real sense of joy and auspiciousness with us all night and everyone left with big smiles and full hearts. We are all eagerly awaiting the next festival on April 5th to celebrate the appearance day of Lord Śrī Rāmacandra.

In the meantime devotees at ISKM Australia are running regular Sunday Programs, both at the temple and also at two external locations in order to reach out further into the community. These have been very successful with many new faces coming along interested to hear more about Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Through these programs many books have been distributed, some have taken up chanting and offering their food and others are coming in and helping out with service.

With the prasādam caravan only a few weeks away the preaching activities are set to explode as we already have many festivals lined up and new Food For Life avenues opening up!

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu kī jaya!
